history

No one is quite sure when the bowls club was first established, but there is a record of two members of Long Stratton BC winning the county championship in 1929.
The club moved to its present green in 1973. Prior to that it was situated in the grounds of a house belonging to Lt Col Owen Wansbrough-Jones in the Street.
The present green is highly maintained & is an exceptional playing surface.
We have our own well stocked bar with a range of bottled beers, wine and soft drinks at club prices.
We welcome members of all ages and for the first time in the clubs history we have moved from the white shirt and tie to our own designed club shirt in the hope that it will encourage younger people to take up the sport.
We have a accredited club coach who is available to support new players.
We now play in four leagues; EBA (South 2), Border League , Upper Waveney League (div 2) and South Norfolk League.
If you join the club you are guaranteed at least one game per week (if you put your name down to play) (some members by choice play 4/5 times).
